At the Children’s Nature Retreat we strongly believe that time spent in nature, with animals, will offer a lasting and profound impact on a child. Fostering an appreciation for these things at a young age is sure to be a positive outcome throughout a child’s life.
Have your class spend the day with us, exploring the great outdoors and learning all about our many animals! Currently, we have over 95 domesticated livestock with 17 species and 38 different breeds from around the world. The children will enjoy up-close interaction with these beautiful animals while they spend time in and out of enclosures with our experienced animal keepers. They will have over 20 acres of beautiful and serene ranch-land to explore with animals at every stop. Fun and educational presentations will take place throughout the day that focus on animals, nature and sustainable farming!

The Children’s Nature Retreat is working directly with local schools and organizations within the San Diego community that serve underprivileged children and children in need, in order to offer these groups free field trips to the retreat. This opportunity is made possible by the generous donations made through Hands United for Children, our 501c3 organization.
Hands United for Children also provides free admission to qualified children and families who are in need due to health trauma, chronic diseases and financial distress.
